Carolina

Today was one of those days that was more like March than February. It was in the 50’s and windy. The boys were off school yesterday and their time to sleep in, but this morning it was back to the normal schedule of things. My son and I worked on the couch through the morning, him working on his school and me on my notes. Around 12:30 it was time to scrounge for lunch before heading out to the grocery store.

In six weeks I have almost 200 hours. My goal is to finish this somatic certification class by the time of my April extension. I bought two classes and started in on the second one which has no deadline, but what I really need to do is finish the first one first. My sister has agreed to be my guinea pig so I can practice and get feedback. Her therapist told her that she had basically gone as far as she was able to go with regular therapy.

So I’ve been playing with Zoom and trying to learn how to set up meetings. These classes aren’t actually officially accredited but I was drawn to the content and am getting ideas on other things one could actually do. I have a newer person who I would really love to try this on…but…yeah. How to not seem like a total weirdo when introducing the concept is one thing. People actually coming back over time is another.

We went to the grocery store and got food for the next week. Ethan and Laura had their baby appointment today and sent another picture. This time you could see more the shapes of arms and legs. I sent a text to my parents, siblings, aunt, and a few friends. I am excited to be a grandma and to remember the times when my son was a baby and how much fun being a mom was. The boys came home from practice. I got the mail.

Josh sent me a picture of a dolphin in the sunset. He said it basically looks like Florida. There are palm trees and Spanish moss which I would never have guessed. I figured South Carolina would’ve looked just like every other eastern state north of Georgia and south of New Jersey. The boys and I enjoyed our supper after they ate a box of cookies and half a bag of chips. I like having supper at home because I feel like a good mom.
