Sunlight

I finally felt good enough for walking again. Today the sun was shining and the temps were in the mid 70’s. I love the restorative days, where you feel there is that balance between getting a few things done, studying and reading (could’ve been more), doing the gentle bodywork, and then still going outside for sunlight, fresh air, and movement.

By 4PM I felt strong enough to go to the grocery store with Josh coming with me and our son. It’s once of those things where it’s just easier on me to not have to do it alone. A lot of things in life are like that but especially the errands.

One of the boys was home sick with a sore throat and fever but thankfully was feeling better today. I told Ethan and Laura to stay at her parents house a little longer until whatever germs are over here have had some time to further dissipate. I have just been having body aches and fatigue, but I feel like I’ve been having that all winter long.

I’ve been meeting with one of my sisters on Monday nights to practice Zoom therapy. It’s actually been helping. Last week I had a couple that I had to use the free Zoom for, so I had to send one link for the first 45 minutes, and then a link for the last 15 minutes to make the whole hour. Then they were in two different locations.

It was the goofiest thing but it worked. There is something about telehealth that I actually weirdly like, I have no idea what it is. Maybe it’s the challenge or feeling strangely free with the screen. Whatever it is, I don’t mind it. Tonight my sister had plans to go for a walk with a friend. It opened up a spot for me to Facetime another sister.

She got engaged over the weekend was needing to process some things. With Ethan I wrote a book, but I think for her what I’m going to do is give her five or six personalized therapy sessions as a wedding a present. Just for the basic life skills things when it comes to how we cope that none of us were really taught during school.

So that was nice. I don’t know what else to say other than that I was grateful for the day and it felt good again to be outside in the sunlight. I took off my sandals and walked around in the sand, which still was wet and packed down from the rain. Tonight for supper I made potato soup and Dad and the boys were grateful again to have food.
